Another Filipino boxer is making a case as one of the brightest and upcoming stars in the super bantamweight division.

Mike “Magic” Plania just posted his 11th straight professional win after punishing Ricardo Nunez of Panama and earned a stoppage in the first-round via technical knockout in the fight held at the Manuel Artime Community Center Theater in Miami, Florida.

Plania timed a perfectly thrown right hand that caused Nunez to backpedal and cover in hopes of recovering back to his normal state.

However, Plania was quick to follow up his big right hand with a barrage of combinations that forced the referee to halt the contest at the 2:41 mark of the first round.

It was all Plania from the get-go as the powerful Filipino puncher opened the fight with dazzling left straights that connected on Nunez’s jaw cleanly.

Plania then found the perfect chance to unload heavy bombs after the Panamanian failed to maintain his distance and engaged in a brawl.

With the win, Plania now boasts an impressive record of 26 wins, one loss, with 13 wins via knockout.

Meanwhile, Nunez, a former world title challenger, dropped to a disappointing 29 wins and 13 losses.
