Another Filipino hopeful is testing the waters in the United States after setting up a clash with an unbeaten American fighter.
James Bacon, one of Sanman Promotions’ fighters who got stuck in Miami, Florida due to the COVID-19 pandemic, inked a fight against American veteran Alexis Rocha and will test his five-month training in Indio, California.
The PH welterweight is hoping to bounce back from a devastating loss to Darragh Foley and is looking to do what gym-mate Rey Plania did to Joshua Greer Jr. last June.
Heading into the fight, Bacon is the clear underdog and will try to defy the odds in front of unfamiliar territory as he will try to counter the southpaw Rocha.
Bacon holds a 23-4 record with 15 knockouts while his opponent maintains a clean sheet of 16-0 with 10 knockouts.
The possible dates for the Bacon-Rocha bout will be on August 21 or August 28, confirmed by Sanman Promotions head JC Manangquil.
