It’s a tragic day for Philippine sports.

One of the best Filipino sportsmen, Michael Ochosa, passed away due to a heart attack. He was only 55 years old.

Ochosa can be best remembered as a staple ring analyst whenever Manny Pacquiao had a title fight. He also had stints covering various sports such as basketball, baseball, and volleyball.

The bubbly sports analyst became Viva Sports Management’s president from 2013-2016 after breaking away in the corporate world.

Ochosa was also a regular for Ringstar Boxing, ABS-CBN S+A, GMA Sports, and Solar Sports.

He was also a sports columnist for the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Rappler, and the Manila Standard.

In the field, Ochosa’s love for sports was also evident after a coaching stint in baseball for the Pony League national team Habagat and also became a president of Punchout Boxing Club.

Rest in paradise, Mr. Ochosa.
