BACOLOD CITY – Three business establishments were partially damaged in a fire that broke out around 9:48 a.m. in a three-story building along Gatuslao Street, Barangay 13, yesterday.

Fire Supt. Jenny Mae Masip, city fire marshal, said the fire originated from the second floor of a pastry shop.

The fire was raised to a third alarm seven minutes later after it spread to two adjacent establishments – fashion and novelty shops selling assorted products and cellphone accessories.

Masip said the storage room of a fashion boutique situated on the third floor of the building was also damaged in the fire.

Masip reported that employees of the three establishments and some customers were able to get out of the building before the fire grew bigger.

No injuries were reported. Fire out was declared at 10:48 a.m.

Masip estimated the damage at P8 million.

She said they have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
