The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has seized PHP45 million worth of suspected shabu in the first quarter of 2025 as part of its intensified anti-drug campaign.
From Jan. 1 to March 31, ICPO operatives confiscated approximately 6.627 kilograms of suspected shabu in 169 anti-narcotics operations.
The operations led to the arrest of 218 drug suspects.
Of those arrested, 55 were classified as high-value individuals, 156 were street-level individuals, four had existing warrants of arrest, two were minors, and one was an unlisted individual.
The arrests were made by the following units: Iloilo City Police Station 1 (15), Station 2 (22), Station 3 (12), Station 4 (36), Station 5 (17), Station 6 (16), Station 7 (16), Station 8 (17), Station 9 (26), Station 10 (20), City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) (20), and Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC) (1).
The CDEU led in drug seizures with PHP17.9 million worth of suspected shabu.
This was followed by ICPS1 with PHP5.5 million, ICPS4 with PHP4.9 million, and ICPS10 with PHP4.6 million.
Colonel Kim Legada, Iloilo City police chief, commended both stakeholders and police personnel for their continued commitment to the city’s anti-drug efforts.
“With our unified stand alongside the community and other law enforcement agencies, rest assured that your Philippine National Police in Iloilo City will continue and intensify its operations to suppress, limit, and ultimately eradicate illegal drug activities,” Legada said.
