BACOLOD CITY – Police seized an estimated PHP 598,400 worth of suspected shabu in separate anti-illegal drug operations across Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
In Manapla town, operatives from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) arrested a 50-year-old man during a drug bust in Barangay II. Authorities confiscated 63 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 428,400 and PHP 500 in marked money.
In Kabankalan City, four individuals, including a teenager, were arrested in Barangay 1 after being caught with 25 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 170,000.
The suspects were identified as alias “Tata Tomboy,” 27; alias “Aming,” 36; alias “Peter,” 28; and an 18-year-old male, all residents of the same village. Police tagged Tata and Aming as street-level individuals.
Officers also recovered three improvised glass tooters and PHP 800 in marked money from the suspects.
In Victorias City, a 43-year-old electrical crew member was arrested the same day after being caught with an improvised tooter while entering a milling company.
A security guard at the company entrance discovered the drug paraphernalia during a standard operating procedure (SOP) check of workers’ belongings. The suspect was turned over to police for custody and the filing of charges.
