The Ateneo Blue Eagles Men’s basketball squad is still the team to beat in the UAAP.

One of the most highly-touted recruits overseas just made his decision and will be transferring to Ateneo from the California State Polytechnic University.

Filipino-American Chris Koon will be making his PH debut with the Blue Eagles and head coach Tab Baldwin is nothing but excited to work with his new core after the exit of Matt and Mike Nieto, Isaac Go, and Thirdy Ravena.

However, the 19-year-old teen sensation will need to serve his one-year residency and will have to sit one whole season once the UAAP resumes.

The 6’4’’ combo-guard has one of the widest skill-sets among the newly added players in the UAAP. Koon can shoot, drive, and can even play the four and five positions with the height and length he brings to the team.

In his high school stint with the Rolling Hills Prep in California, Koon averaged 16.0 points and 4.0 assists per contest and led his squad to three straight CIF Southern Section championships.

The prized guard is also a two-time John R. Wooden High School Player of the year recipient, CIF-SS Division 5AA Player of the Year, and a Coastal League MVP.
