ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A former inmate was arrested Thursday morning, Oct. 27, 2022 after an unlicensed firearm and several live ammunition were recovered in a raid on his house at Barangay Adlawan here.
Victorio Tomasa, 57, of said place, did not resist when the elements from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Capiz Provincial Field Unit, Roxas City police’s SWAT Team and Capiz Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Unit swooped down on his house.
Police Lt. Danilo A. Matahum, CIDG-Capiz chief, led the operation on the strength of Search Warrant No. 04-2022 issued by Executive Judge Esperanza Isabel E. Poco-Deslate of the Regional Trial Court Branch 19 here.
Recovered from the suspect were:
a.) One caliber COLT .45 pistol M1911 US ARMY colored silver with serial no. 898103;
b.) One steel magazine for caliber .45 pistol;
c.) Three live ammunition for caliber.45 pistol;
d.) One black holster for caliber .45 pistol;
e.) One black ammunition box;
f.) Four live ammunition for caliber .45 pistol;
g.) 2 live ammunition for Caliber .45 pistol;
h.) 1 live ammunition for caliber 9mm pistol;
i.) 1 green box of ammunition
j.) 7 live ammunition for Caliber .22 pistol;
k.) 7 empty shells for caliber.22 pistol; and
l.) One weighing scale.
Tomasa failed to present valid licenses for the guns. He is presently in the custody of CIDG Capiz PFU.
Tomasa was jailed for the crime of attempted homicide but he was released in September 2020.
