BACOLOD City – Two alleged former members of the defunct Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB) were arrested for murder in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental last week.

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Bacolod collared last Wednesday Julius Pabillar, 34, a watchman at Barangay Celestino Villacin; and Marcelo Barbon, 46, a forest guard at the said village.

Police Chief Master Sergeant Ramiro Gocotano, chief investigator of CIDG-Bacolod, said the arrest warrants with no bail were issued by Executive Judge Gwendolyn Jimenea of the Regional Trial Court (RTC)-Branch 60 in Cadiz City.

Gocotano said three suspects were charged for the crime but the other one is still at large.

The Revolutionary Proletarian Army, also known by the acronym RPA, was the military wing of the Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawà ng Pilipinas (RPM-P), which split from the Communist Party of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, a vendor was arrested in an entrapment operation at Barangay 26 here on the same day, for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law.

The CIDG identified the suspect as Mark Baldecasa, 43, of the said village. He was an alleged member of “Tonggo Group” which is involved in gun-running activities in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

Authorities recovered from Baldecasa the P100 marked money, boodle or fake money, a KG 99 caliber .9mm Luger pistol (Interodynamic Miami F.L. Model) with two magazine assemblies, a caliber .22 Smith and Wesson magnum revolver, and four live .9mm ammunition.
