Since its launching, Iloilo Sports Academy has always remained true to its word in providing free and quality sports training to all Ilonggos.

After Iloilo City’s shift from the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to General Community Quarantine (GCQ), Executive Assistant for Sports Mr. Rudiver Jungco Sr. and the rest of the Iloilo City Sports Development Division formulated ways to somehow include sports in the resumption plans.

After a few weeks, the Iloilo City Government finally approved the resume of the Academy’s training under strict health protocols.

Inspired by the sheer will and dedication of the Iloilo City’s program, several prized athletes already lent their help with the aim of giving back to the academy.

Former Davis Cup player and a gold medalist in the Southeast Asian Games, Alex Marcial, donated a tennis net, tennis rackets, tennis shoes, and tennis bags to the athletes under the sports academy.

Marcial is also the founder of the Friends of Philippine Tennis and has been an ardent advocate of the sport.

The tennis equipment donations by coach Marcial was made through the efforts of coach Alven Santiago, one of the main organizers of the Sports Academy for tennis.
