Fortinet Hits Milestone in Cybersecurity Skills Training

Fortinet has announced significant progress toward its goal of training 1 million individuals in cybersecurity by 2026, having already trained over half a million people through its Fortinet Training Institute.

The cybersecurity leader made this pledge as part of its effort to address the global shortage of cybersecurity professionals.

John Maddison, Fortinet’s Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized the importance of the company’s initiative in boosting cybersecurity resilience, stating, “Addressing the cyber skills gap is vital to enhancing our society’s collective cyber resiliency, and we are committed to developing the current and future cyber workforce through the Fortinet Training Institute.”

With the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals worldwide, Fortinet’s 2024 Global Cybersecurity Skills Gap Report revealed that 70% of organizations believe the skills shortage increases risks to their security.

Fortinet’s training programs offer role-based certifications, such as administrator and analyst, and have been recognized with awards, including the 2024 SC Award for Best Professional Certification Program.

The company’s initiatives include partnerships with global organizations to expand access to cybersecurity training.

In Europe, Fortinet pledged to train up to 75,000 individuals through the European Commission’s Cybersecurity Skills Academy.

In India, Fortinet partnered with the All-India Council for Technical Education and EduSkills Foundation to offer 100,000 virtual internships in cybersecurity.

Maddison reaffirmed Fortinet’s commitment, adding, “We remain focused on our pledge to train 1 million individuals in cyber by 2026.”

These efforts align with the company’s broader mission to close the global cybersecurity skills gap and ensure a more secure digital future.
