Four-day drug haul nets P449,080 worth of ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Police continue to hunt suspected drug peddlers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This, after nearly half a million worth of suspected shabu was seized by authorities here and in Negros Occidental from Oct 25 to 28, 2021, following the P3.4-million drug haul of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6 early this week in San Carlos City.

In the province, four persons, including a 17-year-old lass, were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in the cities of Bago and Silay, and Calatrava town. The operation led to the confiscation of P156,680 worth of suspected shabu.

The minor and her live-in partner were arrested in Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City last Wednesday, and allegedly yielded P105,000 worth of the said contraband and an improvised explosive device, based on police report.

In Bacolod, three persons were apprehended in separate drug busts in Barangays Montevista and Mansilingan that resulted in the confiscation of P292,400 worth of suspected shabu.

The biggest drug recovery here was reported last Thursday in Barangay Mansilingan led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG)-Special Operations Unit (SOU)-6.

PDEG personnel seized P238,000 worth of suspected shabu from two persons.
