BACOLOD City – Local rescuers and personnel of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued four fishermen after their boat capsized in the waters of Sipalay City, Negros Occidental on Monday.
The victims were identified as Isagani Moises, 40; Alan Aranez, 49, Romel Tablatin, 38, and Arnold Aranez, 52, all residents of Barangay 5, a report from the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD) said.
The four victims allegedly insisted to go fishing, despite the bad weather condition brought by tropical depression “Falcon.”
Rough seas and strong winds probably caused their boat to capsize, a report from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) said.
