Four hurt as bus collides with truck

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Four persons were injured when a passenger bus liner collided with a truck Saturday afternoon at Sitio Minoro in Barangay Bula, Mambusao, Capiz.

Police identified the victims as Elmer Abelende, 53, driver of Yutong Passenger Bus (ALPS BUS) and resident of Hamtic, Antique; bus conductor Marlon Moreno, 43, of Sebaste, Antique; bus passengers Renante Alcazaren, 38, of Barangay Amiligan, Pontevedra; and Romy Telloro, 39, of Pototan, Iloilo.

Investigation by Police Staff Sgt. Ivan Camacho, traffic investigator of Mambusao Municipal Police Station, the bus was on its way to Caticlan, Aklan when it collided with the truck driven by Jhurdan Zoilo, 26, of Caloocan City, Metro Manila.

Because of the strong impact, the bus driver lost control and hit a mahogany tree.

The victims were taken to Mambusao District Hospital while the truck driver was arrested and detained at Mambusao police station.
