Four killed in multiple road crash in Negros Oriental

BACOLOD City – A family of three and another person were killed in a multiple vehicular accident along the national highway in Barangay North Poblacion, Bacong, Negros Oriental last Saturday.

Based on a report from Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo), the fatalities were identified as Ruel Pascual, 43, his wife Analie, 47, and their 15-year-old daughter, and Meliton Blanco, 59.

Police identified the wounded victim as Wilson Kial, 43.

Based on police investigation, the tanker truck lost control when one of its tires exploded.

The truck then rammed into two motorcycles and a motor vehicle ridden by the victims.

The victims were pinned down by the truck before the vehicle crashed into a house.

The truck driver, who also suffered minor injuries, surrendered to the police.

In a media interview, the truck driver said that he tried to avoid the motorcycles but he could not control the vehicle anymore.

He apologized to the victim’s family and said that it was not his intention to hurt anyone.
