Four more repatriated Overseas Filipino Worker (OFWs) were infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) based on the two bulletin advisories issued by the Department of Health-Center for Health Development Western Visayas (DOH-CHD 6) over the weekend.
The health department reported on Saturday that two more repatriates in the region have COVID-19.
The repatriates include a 37-year-old male from Bacolod City (WV Patient No. 122) and 35-year-old male from Balasan, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 123).
On Sunday, DOH-CHD 6 issued another advisory confirming two new additional cases in the region who are also OFW repatriates. They include a 40-year-old male from San Joaquin, Iloilo (WV Patient No. 124) and a 28-year-old male from Lezo, Aklan.
The four new patients are currently under facility quarantine in their respective local government units (LGUs).
Western Visayas now has 46 OFW repatriates in the region infected with COVID-19 as of Sunday.
25 have already been discharged after finishing the 14-day quarantine and securing a negative repeat test; 18 are currently under facility quarantine; two are admitted to a health facility while one repatriate expired on June 6.
Iloilo City recorded the highest number of COVID-19 positive OFW repatriates at 13 followed by Iloilo province and Negros Occidental with 8 each, Bacolod City with 7, Antique with 4 and Guimaras and Aklan with 3.
