BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Bacolod arrested four of the most wanted persons in the province early this week.
In Sipalay City, police nabbed a 31-year-old man last Wednesday for murder and rape charges. He is the fourth most wanted person in the province.
According to a report from Police Regional Office (PRO)-6, the suspect was one of the two alleged suspects in the killing of his grandfather and raping his mother’s younger sister in July 2014.
The court did not recommend bail for the accused who is detained at Sipalay City Police Station.
In Rizal province, CIDG-Bacolod operatives collared a 35-year-old man in Barangay Prinza, Teresa town last Tuesday for the crime of rape. He is the 10th most wanted person in the province, according to the CIDG.
The arrest warrant, with no bail recommended, was issued by Judge Henry Arles of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 61 in Kabankalan City on March 20, 2007.
The suspect, who is a native of Kabankalan City, was working as a truck driver in Rizal province, according to the CIDG.
In Murcia town, an 18-year-old man of Barangay Blumentritt was arrested last Wednesday for five counts of rape.
He is the top most wanted person in the town, and one of the five suspects in a gang rape that transpired in June 2020 at an abandoned warehouse in the said village, according to the police.
The warrant with no bail recommended was issued by Judge Phoebe Gargantiel-Balbin of RTC Branch 41 in Bacolod City on August 10, 2020.
In Silay City, a man from Barangay Guinhalaran, was arrested last Wednesday for allegedly raping his step daughter last May 12, 2020.
The accused, who is the third top most wanted person in the city, was arrested in his house by virtue of an arrest warrant with no bail recommended for two counts of qualified rape issued by Judge Dyna Doll Chiongson-Trocio of RTC Branch 40 in the city on October 19, 2020.
The suspects’ names were withheld to protect the identities of the victims.
