ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Four persons were arrested in separate drug buy-bust operations Thursday afternoon in Panay and President Roxas towns.
The joint forces of Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) and Panay Municipal Police Station collared Kenn Joy Arcangeles, 21, of Barangay Tanque, and a 17-year-old boy from Barangay Jumaguicjic, both in Roxas City, at Barangay Tanza Sur, Panay, Capiz.
Recovered from the suspects were nine sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, P150 cash of the suspects and a hand bag.
According to Police Captain Marvin Balmes, Panay PNP chief, the police conducted surveillance and monitoring on suspects following intelligence reports about their illegal activities.
Punong Barangay Lilibeth Billones of Tanza Sur said the suspects were strangers in their village the reasons why they kept on monitoring their movements in the area.
Meanwhile, two more persons were arrested in another drug bust operations at Sitio Campo Brgy. Poblacion President Roxas, Capiz.
The joint team of Pontevedra, Pilar, President Roxas Municipal Police Stations and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit nabbed Jocel Moralita, 30, and Leo Cortesta, 39, both of President Roxas town.
Recovered from the suspects were eight sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money and several drug paraphernalia.
The police said the two suspects were newly identified drug personalities of the town. They are detained at the President Roxas Municipal Police Station.
Charges for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the four suspects.
