BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested four teenagers, including three high school students, in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on Thursday and Friday.

In Bacolod, two senior high school students were apprehended during a buy-bust operation at the Reclamation area in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, early Friday.

Operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) seized approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu, valued at PHP340,000, from the two 16-year-old suspects, both residents of Barangay 3.

Police Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez Jr., head of the CDEU, said they received reports from the community about the minors’ alleged involvement in illegal drug activities, prompting the validation and subsequent operation.

Benitez stated that the two suspects allegedly conspired in selling illegal drugs. However, he declined to provide further details due to the sensitivity of the case, considering that the suspects are minors.

Authorities are currently investigating the source of the illegal drugs.

Both suspects are now under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), pending the filing of drug-related charges.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) remains committed to intensifying its anti-drug efforts, ensuring that individuals involved in illegal drugs, regardless of age, are brought to justice.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation on Thursday, two other teenagers were arrested during a drug bust at Purok Trece y Medya, Barangay Taloc, Bago City.

The suspects, an 18-year-old student and his 19-year-old companion, both residents of Barangay 39, allegedly yielded eight sachets of suspected marijuana.

Authorities also confiscated PHP500 in marked money, two lighters, PHP55, and an aluminum box case.
