The program includes four modules, consisting of four weeks of asynchronous learning, five online synchronous meetings (2 hours per session) on Saturdays, a 1.5-day face-to-face synthesis workshop on a weekend, and 3-4 weeks of asynchronous monitoring and evaluation.
“Our newest program builds on the lessons we learned from our former counter-disinformation programs and the evolving insights from critical disinformation studies,” said OOTB in its program briefer.
OOTB, an SEC-registered educational nonprofit fostering media literacy among Filipinos, said the training aims to increase the resilience of MIL educators to everyday influence operations in the media through critical inquiry and creative expression.
At the end of the training, participants are also expected to design and implement Project Based Learning (PBL) materials with themes of media literacy, inoculation, disinformation and influence operations.
The Media Detectives ToT was successfully pilot tested in Davao in March of this year.
