In another blow to his playing career, former world number one Andy Murray suffered a pelvic injury and will not be seeing action in the upcoming 2020 Australian Open.

Returning last September after missing almost a year with a series of injuries, the British lawn tennis star will again try to nurse himself back to 100 percent after injuring his pelvis during the Davis Cup.

Playing for Britain, Murray felt discomfort in moving after a certain pop in his pelvic area that prevented him to run in his full motion.

Frustrated, Murray said that he prepared almost two years for a major grand slam comeback, but all efforts went to waste after another unfortunate event.

“I’ve worked so hard to get myself into a situation where I can play at the top level and I’m gutted I’m not going to be able to play in Australia in January,” Murray said.

The injury will put Murray back to his two-year routine of everyday rehabilitation and muscle strengthening exercises.
