Kai Sotto’s anticipated debut in the NBA G-league will not be happening this year after officials confirmed that they will hold the tourney next year.

NBA G-league president Shareef Abdur-Rahim confirmed the decision right after NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced that the NBA will be eyeing a comeback on July 31.

The schedule of the G-league is usually in late October or early November, just a week after the NBA starts its season.

Meanwhile, Sotto’s team in the G-league is already finalizing its lineup and coaching staff, together with Fil-Am Jalen Green, the formidable duo will be playing under the helm of former NBA champion and coach, Brian Shaw.

As of now, no statement from the Sotto camp was released whether they will continue training with the Atlanta-based The Skills Factory or hold a private workout for the meantime.
