January in the Philippines is a time of vibrant celebrations, with major cultural festivals uniting communities nationwide.
This year, GCash participated in two of the country’s most anticipated events—the Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City and the Sinulog Festival in Cebu City—by providing secure and seamless cashless transactions while promoting digital security awareness.
GCash set up interactive booths at key locations in both cities. In Cebu, festival-goers found booths at Plaza Independencia, Fuente Osmeña, the CCSC Parade Route, and Ayala Center.
In Iloilo, booths were stationed at Ayala Malls Atria and Festive Walk. These venues offered festival attendees an opportunity to learn about digital safety while experiencing the convenience of cashless transactions.
As part of its #GSafeTayo campaign, GCash emphasized cybersecurity education by engaging festival-goers in the “GCash Spot-a-Scam Bingo Challenge,” an interactive game designed to teach users how to identify phishing tactics and avoid cyber threats. Through this initiative, participants gained valuable knowledge on securing their financial details and maintaining digital privacy.
In addition to cybersecurity awareness, GCash assisted first-time users in registering for a GCash or GSave account, verifying their accounts, and cashing in. New users received exclusive GCash festival tote bags as a welcome gift.
The festival experience was further enhanced with promotions such as GLoan Sakto, a micro-loan feature allowing users to borrow as little as P100 with a 14-day repayment term at 0% interest. First-time users also received exclusive festival-themed GCash t-shirts.
Festival-goers enjoyed additional perks, including giveaways such as t-shirts, umbrellas, and accessories.
A Buy Load booth allowed users to purchase mobile load with freebies, while a refreshment stand offered water and treats for just P5, ensuring a comfortable experience throughout the festivities.
