Gilas Pilipinas Women superstar and NU Lady Bulldog main gunner Jack Animam made sure that her fellow kababayans in Malolos, Bulacan won’t get left behind amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Animam initiated a fundraising drive in her hometown with the main aim of helping the Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) who still lack personal protective equipment (PPE) and other basic necessities.
“BMC is near us and I saw the number of patients coming in there so we thought of staging a fundraising drive for our frontliners here in Bulacan,” said Animam.
The five-time UAAP champion with the Lady Bulldogs also said that being an athlete doesn’t mean you’ll stick with the field you play with.
As a member of the national team, Animam instilled the sense of nationalism she learned as a member of Gilas, emphasizing that you also have to do your part as a Filipino citizen to help your fellow Filipinos.
So far, Animam already raised 40,000 pesos and she hopes to add more to provide more for the BMC frontliners.
