Ginebra players headline 2019 SEA Games roster

2019 SEA Games men’s basketball head coach Tim Cone (expectedly) picked six players from Ginebra and is expected to implement the same Ginebra system he has with the national team.

LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, Art dela Cruz, Greg Slaughter, Stanley Pringle, and Japeth Aguilar will banner the Cone-led squad in the two-week tourney.

Completing the list of players are June Mar Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter, Chriss Ross, Christian Standhardinger, Jayson Castro, Roger Pogoy, Troy Rosario, Matthew Wright, and Vic Manuel.

Cone expects the players he handpicked from his PBA team to lead the national team and hopes that the chemistry they had will spill-over to the rest of the players.

In a press conference arranged by the PBA and SBP, Cone stated that this move of getting a bulk of his players from his PBA team is somehow the same with what coach Norman Black did with the 1994 national team where majority of the players came from the San Miguel Beermen.
