BACOLOD City – Police are looking for a 27-year-old man who allegedly sexually molested his 11-year-old stepdaughter inside their house in one of the villages here on Monday.
Police Inspector Jonito Pastrana, head of Police Station 9, withheld the identities of the victim and the suspect.
Pastrana said the victim and her mother went to the police station yesterday morning to report the incident.
He, however, refused to elaborate how it happened.
Pastrana said that the suspect had previously sexually abused the victim, but no charges were filed against him because the latter’s mother decided to forgive him, until the incident happened again.
Based on the medical examination results, the child suffered lacerations in her genitals, he said.
She was brought to a temporary shelter which caters to abused children.
The station commander said that the suspect will be charged for rape in relation to violation of Republic Act 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.”
