Glenwood Launches First Pharma Services Hub in PH

Glenwood Services Philippines Inc. (GSPI), a subsidiary of Germany-based Glenwood GmbH, has officially registered with the Board of Investments (BOI) as the first pharmaceutical services project in the Philippines.

Aimed at supporting pharmaceutical companies worldwide, GSPI recently opened its new facility in Taguig, offering services in Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance to help ensure drug safety, manage risks, and maintain global compliance.

The project has created high-level employment opportunities in the country, drawing on the Philippines’ pool of highly educated and skilled professionals, including pharmacists, chemists, and medical science graduates.

Glenwood credited the BOI for its vital support in establishing the company’s presence in the Philippines, especially throughout the registration process.

The BOI administers fiscal incentives under the CREATE Act and CREATE MORE Act, such as Income Tax Holidays, Special Corporate Income Tax rates, Value-Added Tax Exemptions, and Enhanced Expense Deductions, helping position the country as an attractive hub for foreign investments.

“We are amazed by the incredible talent in the Philippines,” said Dr. Ferdinand Matz, general manager of Glenwood GmbH.

“The education, skills, and training here are impressive. We look forward to expanding our Pharmaceutical Services project and growing our presence in the Philippines.”

GSPI’s entry highlights the Philippines’ capacity to meet international standards and strengthens its position as a regional hub for highly specialized services.

Atty. Ariel Arriola, managing partner of Arriola & Relato Law Offices (ARRELaw), which assisted Glenwood in securing BOI registration, emphasized the broader impact of the project.

“Glenwood’s investment is a testament to the investibility of the Philippines,” Arriola said.

“It highlights the capability of Filipinos to provide critical services needed by the global market. The Philippine government, led by the BOI, is committed to creating a healthy and attractive business environment for foreign companies.”

Glenwood GmbH, based in southern Germany, is a Marketing Authorization Holder (MAH) specializing in regulatory affairs, quality assurance, and pharmacovigilance.

The company also distributes and markets niche pharmaceutical products in various countries.

The project reflects the Philippine government’s continued effort to position the country as Southeast Asia’s premier hub for smart, sustainable manufacturing and services.

By fostering a competitive and investment-ready ecosystem, the government aims to drive long-term economic transformation and growth.
