Globe launches eSIM upgrade for prepaid users

Globe Telecom is set to launch a new service that allows Globe Prepaid customers to upgrade from a physical SIM card to an eSIM while retaining their existing mobile number, the company announced today.

“This new offer is part of our drive for wider adoption of eSIM. We’re not just keeping up with the digital needs of our customers, we’re propelling them into the future of connectivity,” said Givielle Florida, Head of Globe Prepaid.

The upgrade process, available through the GlobeOne app, includes an eSIM-compatibility check to ensure the user’s device supports the technology. The service, priced at just Php 99, promises a seamless download and installation experience.

To upgrade, customers need to access the GlobeOne app, navigate to SIM Hub > Change SIM > eSIM, and follow the on-screen instructions. The eSIM is then installed by scanning a QR code sent via email.

This initiative follows Globe’s earlier successful introduction of eSIMs for Prepaid subscribers, further enhancing the digital experience for its customers.

Globe encourages customers not to be left behind in the digital revolution. The GlobeOne app can be downloaded at glbe.co/NewGlobeONE, where users can navigate to the SIM Hub for the upgrade.
