Disaster Response Communication Assistance to LGUs
Globe equipped local government units in areas hit by Typhoon Odette with the M360 platform, providing a one-time package with free SMS blast services for 30 days. This initiative aims to aid LGUs in their ongoing community disaster relief and recovery operations and to complement areas with restored cellular signal.
With this service, LGUs are able to immediately send important updates to their offices and constituencies via text message – a much-needed resource in disaster response where quick dissemination of information is crucial.
Palawan, Southern Leyte, and Cebu municipalities Naga, Cordova and the city of Mandaue, were among the first to avail of this free service. Other LGUs affected by Typhoon Odette are also encouraged to make use of this assistance via Globe Business representatives until February 28, 2022.
