The ultimate plan of landing the broadcast rights to air the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is finally in GMA Network’s hands.

After a tightly-contested call between them and rival TV5/One Sports, Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon of GMA can finally say their mission is over.

With a goal of revamping their identity as one of the most trusted partners in sports broadcasting, the NCAA approved partnership is the start of something new for GMA 7.

ABS-CBN’s stoppage of their sports coverage left NCAA in the air and was still having a hard time deciding with both GMA and TV5 presenting strong cases in vying for its broadcast rights.

“We are excited that GMA Network is the new home of the NCAA. At the same time, we are grateful to the NCAA board for putting their trust in GMA to serve as a platform in showcasing the talented Filipino student athletes,” said CEO Atty. Gozon.

As soon as NCAA releases their proposed time table for the next season of tournament, GMA Network will start laying down its broadcast plan regarding TV airing and on its online platform.
