The long wait is finally over.

After missing the last 25 regular season games of the Golden State Warriors due to family matters, superstar small forward Andrew Wiggins will finally make his highly-anticipated return to the hardwood confirmed last April 14, 2023.

According to multiple sources including The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Wiggins will now suit up for Golden State and will help them in their championship title defense campaign when they face the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs.

“Andrew looks great, feeling good and is ready to go. I think it sort of depends on how he feels tomorrow and going into Saturday,” Golden State head coach Steve Kerr told The Athletic.

Two weeks ago, Wiggins finally broke his silence after rumors that his girlfriend cheated on him with his best friend drew flak in the NBA community.

As per Charania, Wiggins’ absence in the 25 games Golden State played was due to his father’s critical health condition.

“The reason for Wiggins’ leave of absence since mid-February is that his father, Mitchell Wiggins, has been dealing with a serious medical condition,” Charania posted on his official Twitter account.

Wiggins last played for the Warriors on February 14 against the Washington Wizards and dropped 29 big points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

Without Wiggins, the Warriors struggled to make up for their lack of depth in the swingman rotation and badly missed his two-way presence.

Now that the former lottery pick is back in Golden State’s regular rotation, expect a more fluid Warriors team that beat the younger Boston Celtics squad for the throne last NBA season.
