BACOLOD City – A job order casual employee of Silay City, Negros Occidental was killed after his motorcycle crashed into the rear part of a truck parked at the roadside along the access road in Barangay E. Lopez on Thursday night.

Police identified the victim as Amuel Oderis, 28, of the said village.

Major Rhea Sarah Villanueva, deputy chief of Silay City Police Station, said the victim went out of their house to go somewhere when he met an accident.

Villanueva said the victim was allegedly drunk and was speeding.

She said the truck was parked in a well-lighted area because of a mechanical trouble, and had an early warning device, but the victim probably didn’t notice it.

Oderis succumbed to severe head injuries, she added.

The victim’s family and the truck owner have reached an initial settlement, thus the 38-year-old truck driver will be released from police custody, according to Villanueva.
