BACOLOD City – Police are preparing drug charges against a Grade 11 student who was caught possessing suspected dried marijuana leaves inside his classroom in Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School in Barangay 12, Talisay City, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Police Captain Abegael Donasco, deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station, said the school conducted a routine inspection on students when a teacher recovered the illegal drugs hidden in a pad paper and an improvised pipe from the 18-year-old suspect.
Donasco said the suspect was subjected to medical examination and will undergo further investigation.
It was the second incident that happened in the school after a 21-year-old man was also caught with a hand grenade following a misunderstanding with a pedicab driver, whom he allegedly attempted to hit with an explosive last month.
A suspected marijuana worth P120, and a tooter were also recovered from his pocket.
Donasco said that they met with the school’s officials and barangay captain to discuss some measures that could prevent the same from happening.
She said that they also informed them about the measures or processes that they should follow in case such an incident happens again.
Despite the recent incident, Donasco said the classes were not affected.
