ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police recovered a hand grenade and a .45 caliber pistol with 4 live ammunition in a raid on a house in Barangay Matagnop Dao, Capiz.
Despite the non-presence of the subject Jose Bennie Estorque, police will still file charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and RA 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives) against Estorque who was the subject of the search warrant implemented at his house at Sitio Bangbang, Barangay Matagnop, Dao.
The operation was carried out by Dao Municipal Police Station on the strength of a search warrant issued by Judge Esperanza Isabel E. Poco-Deslate of the Regional Trial Court Branch 19 in Roxas City on August 1, 2023.
Meanwhile, police on Wednesday filed charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) against Rodel Dumaniel of Barangay Poblacion Ilawod Cuartero, Capiz.
Major Christian Mahometano, Cuartero Municipal Police Station, said the charges were filed before the Capiz Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Police recovered from Dumaniel five sachets of suspected shabu worth P25,800.
Mahometano said that based on their monitoring, Dumaniel got his stocks from Roxas City which he also confirmed to the police.
He said it took two months to monitor the suspect before the operation was conducted.
