The Guimaras Taekwondo Union (GTU) will be distributing sacks of rice as allowances to their active members who were affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

Those affected were families whose income came to a halt because of the enhanced quarantine.

Dr. Richard Gabayoyo, GTU’s head instructor, initiated the drive to help their active taekwondo jins in order to help his fellow Guimarasnons.

Dr. Gabayoyo elaborated that the jins they are helping are the future of Guimaras in the said sport and also, can become future leaders anywhere they go later on.

Also, he added that amid the COVID-19 crisis, this is not the time to pull each other down, but this is the perfect time to help each other to hasten nationwide recovery.

“God’s will ini. Instrument ya lang ako. This is our social responsibility to help our taekwondo jins to stand still while facing the pandemic COVID-19,” Dr. Gabayoyo told the Daily Guardian in an exclusive interview.
