After a month of elimination stage and playoff clash, the 2023 Milo Champion’s League Guimaras leg basketball tournament grand final ended on a high note held at the Lawi Gym in Jordan, Guimaras.

Six talented teams vied for the prestigious Milo gold medals in the three different categories: the 12-under, 18-under, and the 25-under.

For the 12-under category, the Santa Teresa Stryper team reigned supreme and grabbed the championship title.

Taking the first runner-up honors is the Buluangan Hotshots while team Shooting Champs settled for the second runner-up place.

Mythical five members that were named in the 12-U category are Junwyn Temblador, Renzel James Bermejo, Aldrin Galin, Stephen Suarez II, and Hyden Paulo Diamante.

Meanwhile, in the 18-U category, the team Eastern Waves pulled off a huge championship season while team Archegos landed first runner-up and team Falcons second runner-up.

EJ Secorata, Paul Mejia, Justin Infante, Alfred Gustilo, and Renzo Hinojales were named as the five best players of the age category.

Last but not the least, team Archegos bounced back in the 25-U category after taking home the gold medals while team PCBA Dragons placed first runner-up and the NV Growling Leopards second runner-up.

Mythical five member winners were Roberto Parrenas, Roland Lamina, Justine Villaruel, John Lloyd Selana, and Carl Demmie Gamuyao.

Winners of the special Sportsmanship award were Parrenas for the 25-U category, Jojie Mark Depamallo in the 18-U, and Temblador in the 12-U.

Current West Visayas State University (WVSU) sports director Dr. Richard Gabayoyo is still the league commissioner and is happy to successfully pull off a huge sporting event for the province.

“Madamo gd nga salamat sa pag supporta sa amo ni nga event. Thank you Guimarasnons, Milo, and sa tanan nga nag tambong. Para ini sa development sang aton aspiring ballers. Expect more to come, salamat,” said Dr. Gabayoyo in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian.
