The Provincial Government of Guimaras (PGG) honored its employees for their dedication, hard work, and contributions during the annual Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PAHO) Awards held December 12, 2024, at Guimaras Mountain Resort in Daragan, Buenavista.
A total of 102 employees and two offices were recognized across various categories, including the Loyalty Award, Career and Self-Development Award, Gantimpala Agad Award, and Special Awards. Additionally, 17 retirees received Service Awards, with four being granted their “pabaon.”
OIC Governor John Edward G. Gando, OIC Vice Governor Cecile Gumarin, and SP Member Aurelio Tionado presented the awards to the honorees.
The Loyalty Award was given to 12 employees who served for 30 years, 43 employees with 20 years of service, and eight employees who have been with the PGG for 10 years. Each recipient was awarded a PAHO trophy.
The Career and Self-Development Award was conferred on 13 permanent employees and nine job hires. Awardees received certificates and PHP 2,000 cash.
A Special Award was presented to the Provincial Planning and Development Office for its role in achieving the distinction of Best Provincial Statistics Committee in the region and Guimaras’ recognition as the Best LGU Advocate for Statistics during the 35th National Statistics Month celebration.
The Provincial Health Office was also recognized as a Top-Performing LGU for the TB Treatment Success Rate in 2023. It was further lauded for attaining 100% of Organizational Level Key Result Areas in the Universal Health Care Local Health Systems Maturity Levels and for its Good Practice in Health distinction in 2024.
The PAHO Awards aim to highlight the exceptional performance of provincial employees whose efforts contribute to delivering quality public service and achieving sustainable development and inclusive governance in Guimaras.
