Based on the data released by the Civil Registration Services, Vital Statistics Division of the Philippine Statistics Authority, Guimaras province registered 1,985 total deaths in 2018, or an average of six deaths daily.
The data indicated that 54.56 percent or 1,083 recorded deaths were in usual residence or the place where the person habitually or permanently resided, while 45.44 percent, or 902, were in places of occurrence or the place where the vital event took place.

All the five municipalities of Guimaras province recorded highest occurrence of deaths by
usual residence except for Jordan which registered the most number of deaths by place of
occurrence at 383 (42.46 percent).
If the two vital data are combined (by usual residence and by place of occurrence), Jordan recorded the highest number of deaths at 624.

The municipalities of Buenavista and Nueva Valencia followed Jordan as to the number of deaths occurrence, however, most of their cases were by usual residence which
recorded the highest number at 345 and 257 deaths, respectively.
Deaths at the usual place of occurrence was at 214 for Buenavista and 159 for Nueva Valencia.
Of the 1,985 registered deaths in Guimaras, 902 cases or 45.44 percent were by place of occurrence wherein 472 cases or 23.78 percent were medically attended by health professionals (physician, public health officer, hospital authority or other medical personnel) and 430 cases or 21.66 percent died without medical attention.
Guimaras has zero maternal death in the year 2018, however, 56 Infant deaths (deaths that occurred before reaching age 1) registered, mostly of which are by usual residence or where the family usually resides accounting 62.50 percent while 37.50 percent were by place of occurrence or the place where the death took place.
Moreover, Buenavista and San Lorenzo recorded the most number of infant deaths occurred at the usual residence with 11 and 10 cases respectively, while Jordan recorded the most number at the place of occurrence with 11 expiries.
