BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said he has no plans yet to implement a “no vaccination, no entry” policy at the Provincial Capitol Building for capitol employees and the public.
This, amid reports that some local government units (LGUs) are imposing the policy on government centers.
“We haven’t decided yet if we will disallow the public to enter the Capitol premises if they are not vaccinated,” Lacson told reporters Tuesday.
Earlier, Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante made vaccination a requirement for all public transport drivers and operators, and for city employees in public markets and city-owned buildings or facilities.
Escalante said passenger buses driven by unvaccinated persons and those without valid negative test results would be prevented from entering Cadiz City.
As to the provincial capitol employees, the governor said they are still discussing if there is a need to implement a mandatory vaccination policy for all provincial government employees.
“We need to know how many employees are still unvaccinated,” he said.
