ROXAS CITY, Capiz– Almost all the police personnel of the Roxas City PNP are overweight or obese.

Police Lt. Col. Ricardo Jomuad Jr., Roxas City PNP chief, said overweight police officers will undergo a six-month training to reach the ideal weight as mandated by PNP chief Lt. General Archie Gamboa.

Jomuad said that the PNP reactivated the program to motivate overweight police officers to reach the ideal body mass index.

Included in the weight reduction program are weekly zumba sessions and physical fitness program at the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO).

Cops are also encouraged to exercise daily and follow a healthy diet.

If they fail to meet the ideal weight, Jomuad added, the police officers will not be promoted or even undergo schooling for career advancement.
