A hollow blocks factory worker was arrested for allegedly killing his fellow worker late afternoon of Oct. 7 in Pavia, Iloilo.
Alias Rudy 52, of Barangay Banguit, Cabatuan, Iloilo, allegedly stabbed to death a certain Noel.
The 38-year-old victim from Barangay Capoyuan, Barbaza, Antique suffered at least five injuries on his abdomen, chest, and back of the body.
Staff Sergeant Arnel Escriba, Pavia police investigator, said Rudy and Noel were on a drinking spree when the knife attack happened.
Initially, there were four of them who were drinking but one of them went ahead to sleep.
The other one, a certain Odong, was too drunk to even remember what happened.
Escriba said the suspect opened up about the victim’s act of threatening his son the morning of the said day.
Rudy’s son, who is also a worker at the hollow blocks factory, intimated to his father that the victim had threatened him with a bolo.
But the victim retorted that the suspect was taking sides and that his son also threatened to kill him.
Rudy did not answer back but went to his sleeping quarters.
He apparently took a knife, went to the kitchen where the victim was, and repeatedly stabbed him.
Escriba said they subsequently arrested Rudy during a hot pursuit operation.
Police investigation showed that Noel has been known in their workplace for acting unruly every time he’s under the influence of liquor.
Meanwhile, Rudy is now detained pending the filing of charges against him.
