One of Antique province’s most wanted persons was arrested late morning on Dec. 10 in Sibalom, Antique.
The suspect, identified as Jeckeeren Joy Herrera, 38, of Barangay Igsuming, Sibalom, is a farmer facing a homicide charge involving the use of a loose firearm.
The case, docketed as Criminal Case No. 2024-10-11157, is under Article 249 of the Revised Penal Code.
Judge Ernesto Labio Abijay Jr. of Regional Trial Court Branch 10 in San Jose, Antique, issued the arrest warrant on Nov. 15, 2024. A bail of PHP 120,000 was recommended for Herrera’s temporary release.
Authorities from the Sibalom Municipal Police Station, along with the Antique Police Provincial Office Provincial Intelligence Unit and the 1st Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company, apprehended the suspect at District II, Sibalom.
Herrera is ranked as the third most wanted person in Antique province.
He is currently in custody, awaiting proper legal proceedings.
