BACOLOD City – At least 500 vehicles, pedicabs, and motorbikes here and in Negros Occidental joined the caravan here last Saturday in support of the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.
Clad in pink shirts with pink ribbons on their wrists and their cars adorned with pink balloons and tarpualins, supporters honked as they roamed around the major streets here during the caravan dubbed “Para kay Leni.”
Laban Leni Negros Occidental (LLNO) spokesperson Pinky Mirano-Ocampo said they did not expect the number of individuals who showed up to display their support for Robredo.
Mirano said individuals from southern and northern part of the province also joined the caravan.
Ocampo said they secured the necessary permits from the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) and the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) for the activity.
Ocampo said they will hold more activities soon, as she announced the planned visit of Robredo here on Nov 5, 2021.
Meanwhile, Negros4Leni (N4L) convenor and former governor Rafael Coscolluela, said the vice president will hold consultations and meet and greet sessions here with about 300 sectoral representatives to ensure observance of minimum health protocols at a venue to be announced later.
