Iloilo City chosen for PhilSys Updating Service Pilot

PSA personnel celebrate a successful pilot run of PhilSys Updating Services at Midtown FRC in Iloilo City, marking a milestone in ensuring accurate and up -to-date records for all Filipinos

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announced the successful pilot implementation of the PhilSys Updating Service in Iloilo City Midtown Fixed Registration Center (FRC) from September 28 to 30, 2023.

This crucial service allows Filipinos to update their demographic information and obtain an ePhilID, ensuring that their records in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) remain accurate and up-to-date.

Iloilo, alongside National Capital Region (NCR) I and NCR II, was chosen as one of the pilot provinces for this important initiative.

During the Iloilo pilot, 31 pre-identified participants successfully updated their demographics and were issued with an ePhilID, their PVC cards soon to follow.

This milestone marks a significant step toward fulfilling the requirements outlined in Section 11 of Republic Act No. 11055, also known as the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Act.

According to the Act, in the event of changes in any of the entries in the information collected and stored under the PhilSys, citizens or resident aliens are required to update their registration information as specified by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The successful pilot implementation in Iloilo City reaffirms the PSA’s commitment to providing efficient and accessible services to the Filipino people.

After the completion of the pilot, the PSA Offices in NCR I, NCR II, and Iloilo will continue to offer the Updating Service at the PSA-based registration centers.

The scope of the service will gradually expand to include all other provinces.

The PSA recognizes the importance of accurate and up-to-date demographic information in the PhilSys.

This initiative aims to ensure that every Filipino has access to the benefits of a reliable and secure identification system, contributing to the overall efficiency of government service delivery.
