Iloilo City mayor bags Presidential Lingkod Bayan plum

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Western Visayas named Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas as recipient of the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award in the 2021 Search for Outstanding Government Workers.

The annual search, which forms part of CSC’s Honor Awards Program (HAP), is the highest and most coveted recognition given by the government to individuals or group of individuals who have excelled or shown utmost dedication and commitment to public service.

Treñas dedicated the award to Ilonggos as he recognized the contributions of the residents, personnel of the city government, and even the private sector amid the city’s fight against Covid-19.

“It is an honor for myself and the city in receiving this award as a civil servant. Here in Iloilo City, they have seen how we all united to fight the pandemic. Our residents and personnel had been working together in helping each other. This award is for all of us. We will continue to aspire for a level-up City of Love while helping each other rise from the adversities brought by the pandemic,” he said in his official social media page on Tuesday.

Treñas will receive the award on Sept. 29, 2021 through a virtual ceremony led by the CSC.

Aside from the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, other categories include the Outstanding Public Officials and Employees or the Dangal ng Bayan, and the CSC Pagasa. The CSC Region 6 has yet to announce the other recipients of the awards. (ERS)
