The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) conducted a series of successful anti-drug operations from November 30 to December 1, 2024, leading to the seizure of PHP 1.7 million worth of suspected ‘shabu’ and the arrest of 10 individuals, including a high-value target.
The largest operation occurred on November 30 at 5:35 p.m. in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, where Police Station 10 apprehended alias Batoy, 39, a high-value individual. Authorities confiscated approximately 150 grams of suspected ‘shabu’ valued at PHP 1.02 million, along with a .38 caliber revolver, four live cartridges, and one empty cartridge.
“This accomplishment underscores the dedication and hard work of our personnel on the ground against illegal drugs,” said Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
He emphasized the importance of community collaboration, adding, “The partnership we have with law enforcement agencies and the community manifests our strong resolve to end this problem.”
PHP 272K Worth of Drugs Seized in Lapaz
In another operation on December 1 at 12:30 a.m., Police Station 2 conducted a buy-bust in Barangay Lopez Jaena Norte, Lapaz, Iloilo City. Officers arrested alias Archie, 33, and alias Nilo, 22, both residents of the area. Authorities recovered eight sachets of suspected ‘shabu’ weighing approximately 40 grams and valued at PHP 272,000.
The suspects are in police custody and will face charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Continued Efforts Against Illegal Drugs
Brig. Gen. Wanky commended all personnel and unit commanders involved, thanking the community and other law enforcement agencies for their critical role in these operations.
“These results highlight our unwavering determination to combat illegal drugs and safeguard our communities,” he said.
