Iloilo City shortens curfew

By Carlson B. Alelis

The Iloilo City Government has shortened curfew hours while the city is under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

On July 21, Iloilo Mayor Jerry Treñas signed Executive Order (EO) No. 103 Series of 2020, imposing a modified curfew which starts at 12 am and ends at 4 am. The curfew was earlier imposed from 10 pm to 4 am.

A copy of the EO was posted on the Iloilo City Government’s official Facebook page.

All persons shall continue to observe the curfew for the period covered by the MGCQ until the classification is lifted or extended by the National Inter-agency Task Force (IATF).

Those whose work arrangements and occupations require them to go to work beyond the curfew hours are exempted.

These include those who work at Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Knowledge Outsourcing (KPO) companies; warehouses and logistics; ports, arrastre, food manufacturing, storage and preservation, hospitals, media, and other similar businesses or occupations.

The EO may be amended when the need arises or upon recommendation of concerned national government agencies or the IATF.

Iloilo City is under MGCQ-Medium Risk until July 31, 2020, per EO No. 86-I signed by Treñas on July 17. (PIA/Iloilo City Government)
