It did not take long for the newly introduced sports program of the Iloilo City Government to blossom.
The Iloilo City Sports Academy Arnis team bagged the overall championship in the 1st Mayor Jerry P. Treñas National Arnis Cup with 16 garnered gold medals.
Having a total of 53 participants, the ICSA team also collected 10 silver medals and 9 bronze medals, making it a total of 35 medals.
Winning second place are the arnisadors from the West Visayas State University, who collected a total of 14 medals, 8 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze.
The DPE- Zaragga Arnis team bagged the most bronze medals with 11 but only ranked third by falling short in the gold and silver medals with 6 and 3 respectively.
Squads from the Philippine Dynamic Arnis Team and the RG Hechanova Arnis team went toe-to-toe for the fourth and the fifth place but PDAT edged RG by just 3 medals.
The Dinagyang Eskrima Fest 2020 was brought to you by the Iloilo City Government, the Iloilo City Sports Development Division, Hugpong Filipino Martial Arts, and the Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (PEKAF).
