BACOLOD City – Mayor John Rey Tabujara of Cauayan, Negros Occidental said his administration will focus more on agricultural programs and projects for farmers and fisherfolks in 2020.

Tabujara said bigger budget from the Internal Revenue Allotment will be allotted to the agriculture sector.

He said that in 2019, his administration focused on concreting farm-to-market roads.

So far, Tabujara said 50 percent of the roads have been concreted. Cauayan has 25 barangays and most of these are in the uplands.

“So we really have to give this a priority,” Tabujara said.

He also said that aside from local funds, the provincial government and Rep. Genaro Alvarez also provided funds for the concreting of roads.

Tabujara said at least P15-20 million has been allocated for farm-to-market roads this year.
