The Iloilo provincial government recognized the top-performing Municipal and City Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (M/CADAC) during its flag-raising ceremony on Monday, Feb. 10, in recognition of their efforts to combat illegal drugs at the local level.
In Category A (Component City to 2nd Class Municipality), the Passi City Anti-Drug Abuse Council secured first place, followed by Cabatuan in second place and Carles in third. The winners received cash incentives of P500,000, P400,000, and P300,000, respectively.
For Category B (3rd to 5th Class Municipality), the Dingle Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council took first place, while Balasan and Anilao placed second and third, respectively. The top performers in this category were awarded P400,000, P300,000, and P200,000 in cash prizes.
Aside from recognizing anti-drug efforts, the provincial government also presented the Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentive Award, which honors outstanding barangay justice system programs.
For the 1st to 3rd Class Municipality category, Barangay Parara Norte, Tigbauan was declared champion, while Barangay Abilay Norte, Oton, and Purok Cinco, San Joaquin were named first and second runners-up, respectively.
In the 4th to 5th Class Municipality category, Barangay Guinhulacan, Bingawan was recognized as the champion.
